Advert description
I have a bachelors degree in English literature and linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, and I have been teaching English in various capacities for the past five years. I have tutored students for GCSE English literature and language exams with exceeding results, and I have helped with the writing and editing of GCSE and A-level essays. In my own IGCSE English exams, and my CIE A-level in English literature I achieved an A*, and averaged a 1st at University.
Besides exam prep, I have taught many children and adults who are new to English and learning it as a foreign language. I am a patient and committed teacher and I hope to make you love learning English as much as I enjoy teaching it. I am very flexible and my lessons are completely suited to you and your needs. We will set up times for lessons, based completely on your schedule, and I will prepare material and work beforehand. All you have to do is show up!
I am adept at planning my lessons because I know what should be covered by students of English at any standard. If you are studying for an exam, I have worked with 11 plus, GCSE, TOEFL and A-level students studying under several boards and so have the experience to guide you through these processes. If you are learning English as a foreign language, I will plan my lessons accordingly - introducing you to the lexicon and grammar needed for language learning. If there is something specific you would like to cover, I will take my cues from you and plan accordingly.
