Advert description
About me:
My name is Kidist (Kiki) and I am an experienced and professional tutor bringing over 10 years of experience successfully teaching students in both group and one-to-one sessions.
I really enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge to help students achieve their academic goals. My teaching journey began during my own school years, and allowing me to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Experience:
I have significant experience in teaching, from working at the Advance Tutorial College in Mill Hill, London for 2 years when I was at school. I worked with children from the ages of 6 years to 16 years old taught 11+ preparation and GCSE exam preparation.
I also tutored privately throughout my degrees very successfully, again teaching students of all ages and all abilities. I have experience in working with children with learning disabilities, and can recommend further support where needed and can adapt lessons to work best for each student.
My approach:
I believe in starting with a student-centred approach, understanding their interests, strengths, and challenges to design a balanced lesson plan that keeps students engaged while addressing areas of difficulty.
My teaching style is patient and encouraging, with a focus on developing students’ confidence in their ability. I find my students learn best when they are engaged, and feel comfortable in challenging and motivating themselves.
I assign homework thoughtfully, striking a balance to reinforce learning without overwhelming existing schoolwork. While I'm flexible about using school textbooks, I recommend also incorporating workbooks to track progress over time.
I will work closely with you and your child to understand their goals, and what your expectations are for lessons going forward.
I am available for online tutoring to work around your availability as well as come to you depending on your location.
