Incoming Pupil Barrister at Top London Chambers | 1st Class LSE Law Grad | 5+ years Tutoring in Law

Advert description
I am a future pupil barrister at a top London chambers. Along the way, I've attained a 1st class LLB from LSE, an LLM with Distinction from UCL, passed the Bar on two scholarships, and worked as a legal editor for a company providing legal knowledge to law firms. Throughout, I have provided ad hoc legal and english language tutoring from GCSEs to Masters level.

My approach to teaching is student-specific. The particular approach will depend on (most importantly) what my student’s goals are, the subject matter of their lessons, and their current ability. For example, a student who wants to improve their essay writing skills for their A-levels may benefit from following a template-based structure that gives them a consistent way to achieve their desired grade. By contrast, a master's student requiring help with their dissertation may benefit from a more collaborative discussion on potential ways forward with their thesis. At school, one person’s favourite teacher is another’s nightmare! The benefit of private tutoring is having an individualised approach that works for you.

I do, however, always provide post-lesson feedback including areas to improve and practical steps by which to do so. At the student's request, I am also able to provide further work and/or reading lists so they may continue their development independently.

In terms of subject matter, I provide tutoring in the following areas:

1. A-level law
2. LNAT
3. Personal statements and other university application matters
4. LLB problem questions, essay writing, and dissertations
5. LLM essay writing and dissertations
6. Bar Course content
7. Mooting and advocacy training
8. Pupillage applications and mock interviews

I have known Lawrence in various capacities: a fellow student, a member of my team in competitions, and a mentor in law and career matters. In every such role, Lawrence has been a tremendously reliable source of help. His ability to put complex ideas simply is second to none, and his exceptional friendliness makes learning with him thoroughly enjoyable. In my experience, Lawrence favours a structured approach, which, paired with his extensive knowledge, results in a unique ability to introduce new students to elementary principles quickly as well as engage meaningfully with more experienced aspiring lawyers.

Lawrence is one of the brightest people I have come across. We were classmates at university and he helped myself and many others with exam prep, course studies and career advice. He is an excellent teacher and explains complex concepts simply. I would definitely recommend learning with him.
