Having climbed up the ladder from a band 2 healthcare assistant to a band 7 cancer nurse over 7 years. Throughout my healthcare career in the NHS, qualifying as a mentor for students was one of my main achievements and I found it extremely rewarding to see the progress and success of the next generation of nurses. I later naturally transitioned to the wellbeing industry where I was able to apply the same teaching method as a complimentary therapist to help other less experienced therapists enhance their skills, as well as empower my clients to take accountability for their individual health and wellbeing through knowledge and exercises. I have attained a broad spectrum of skills since with a further qualification in TEFL. My approach to teaching is both to facilitate whilst remaining student-focused, therefore I consider myself to be more collaborative-driven. I've got strong interpersonal and listening skills which I believe create a safe, relaxed and open environment to facilitate the learning of students. I am particularly interested in sharing my knowledge around communication, empathy, mental and physical wellbeing (including anatomy &physiology). My experiences to date have equipped me with the ability to share my existing knowledge and experience to guide others who are considering or, are in the process of entering the public healthcare sector. Whether my students seek support, clarity or further information of what the reality of the industry requires, I am able to offer all of the above. I will offer private online sessions as one to one or small focus groups to allow for more in-depth and student-focused lessons.
