Advert description
I am a seasoned teacher, very friendly, and fully equipped to teach as I have a Bachelor's degree in English, Master's degree in Language and Literature, and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership and Management.
I have been teaching English for more than ten years to grade school and high school students.
Like you, I am a lifelong learner too who can teach and learn with you as we interact meaningfully through engaging activities that we are going to do together.
I emphasize active learning and follow the five E method of teaching to help you learn holistically during the session. So we start with engaging activities or perhaps jumpstart the lesson with Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies that can encourage you to set your mood or have a pleasant predisposition during the session.
Then we can watch a short video together about the topic for the day or study a selection and do text mediation by providing details, explaining the main idea, or expressing your personal response to the text.
After this, we can both explain the relevance of the material we have explored by establishing connections between this material and our lives as readers or users of the English language.
Immediately, we can do some formative exercises or guided practice related to the skill/s we are targeting. Then I can help you work independently on a parallel exercise.
Finally, we find time to evaluate our performance during the lesson through exit slips or by commenting on the starriest and muddiest part of the day's activity.
I can also listen to you and consider your suggestions, if needed, or if you want to explore other ways of learning the English language. Of course we can always have a game, riddle exchanges, cryptograms, or some task-based activities.
At this point, my dear student and friend, always remember, the possibilities of learning the "lingua franca of success" beneficially are endless for as long as we put our hearts into it while we think in English.
Shalom for now, my esteemed confidante, and see you "Zoom!"
