GCSE Music tutor helping students improve written exam, set works and listening skills

I am a GCSE Music tutor specialising in the Edexcel written paper, including set works, listening skills and exam technique. I achieved a Grade 7 in GCSE Music and have a strong background in piano performance (Grade 6 ABRSM) and working towards Grade 7, giving me both practical and theoretical understanding of the subject.

My lessons are structured, clear and focused on helping students improve their exam performance. I break down set works into simple, memorable points and teach students how to apply musical terminology effectively in exam-style answers. I also focus on listening skills, helping students recognise instruments, textures and key features with confidence.

A typical lesson includes a short recap, focused teaching on one topic and practice with exam-style questions using mark schemes. I aim to help students not only understand the content but also learn how to gain marks efficiently in the exam.
