I am a GCSE Music tutor specialising in the Edexcel written paper, including set works, listening skills and exam technique. I achieved a Grade 7 in GCSE Music and have a strong background in piano performance (ABRSM Grade 6) and theory (ABRSM Grade 5) which gives me both practical and theoretical understanding of the subject. I am currently working towards Grade 7 piano.

My lessons are structured, clear and focused on helping students improve their exam performance and confidence. I break down set works into simple, memorable points and teach students how to apply musical terminology effectively in exam-style answers. I also focus on listening skills, helping students recognise instruments, textures and key musical features with confidence.

A typical lesson includes a short recap of previous learning, focused teaching on one key topic and practice using exam-style questions. I also use mark schemes to show students exactly how to access higher marks and how to structure their answers for maximum clarity and marks.

My teaching approach is supportive and adaptable and I aim to explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand regardless of the student’s starting level. I focus on building confidence as well as exam performance, ensuring students feel more secure in their understanding over time.

I work with GCSE Music students (particularly Edexcel) who want to improve their understanding, strengthen their exam technique and achieve higher grades. I am committed to helping students develop effective study strategies and long term skills that improve their overall performance in the subject.

I am passionate about music education and enjoy helping students gain confidence in both their written and listening exam skills through structured and engaging lessons.
