Advert description
I am a friendly and highly motivated university student offering tailored GCSE tuition in Maths and Chemistry. I achieved straight grade 9s at GCSE, including grade 9s in Maths and Chemistry, as well as an A in Additional Mathematics. I then went on to achieve A* grades in A-level Maths, Chemistry and Biology. Having completed these qualifications recently, I understand the GCSE curriculum, common areas of difficulty and the exam techniques students need to turn knowledge into marks.
My lessons are supportive, structured and adapted to the individual. I begin by identifying a student’s current strengths, gaps in understanding, exam board and target grade. From there, sessions combine clear step-by-step explanations, worked examples, active questioning and targeted exam-style practice. The aim is not simply to help students memorise a method, but to make them confident enough to recognise and apply it independently in an exam.
For GCSE Maths, I can support both Foundation and Higher-tier students with topics including algebra, graphs, geometry, trigonometry, probability, statistics and problem-solving. For GCSE Chemistry, I can teach Combined and Triple Science students, covering key content, required practicals, calculations, equations and extended-response questions. I can tailor tuition to AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications.
I am patient, approachable and organised, and I enjoy finding different ways to explain a topic until it clicks. Whether a student needs to rebuild confidence, catch up with missed content, move securely into a higher set, or work towards grades 8–9, lessons will be focused on measurable progress and realistic goals. I also share practical revision strategies that helped me achieve strong results myself, including how to use past papers effectively and identify recurring mistakes.
Lessons are typically one hour and can take place online or in person where appropriate. I offer a discounted introductory session so that students and parents can discuss goals, assess the student’s starting point and decide whether my teaching style is the right fit.
