I have nearly ten years' experience teaching English, and I use a mix of the communicative method which involves practising the language in useful real-life contexts, and more structured grammar exercises. I encourage you to talk by asking you questions and starting natural conversations, as well as using role-playing, games and presentations.I can help you to increase your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation. I have experience teaching general English, business English and English for exams such as CAE, FCE and IELTS. I also have experience with academic English and proof-reading. During our first class we will get to know each other a bit, talk about why you are learning English, your English level, your hobbies and interests, how you like best to learn, what you are looking for from your English classes, and the amount of time you have to practise outside of class. Then I create classes specifically to meet your needs and goals. Classes are relaxed but motivating and I hope that you will enjoy learning English as much as I enjoy teaching. My name is Kathryn. I’m a native English teacher from London. I have over 5 years’ experience teaching English, and a Cambridge (CELTA) qualification.

I offer ONLINE classes, for all levels (beginners – advanced).

I also offer classes focused on pronunciation; academic proofreading and interview preparation.

Classes are relaxed and supportive, and tailored to your needs and goals. I encourage you to speak a lot in class, and lose the fear of speaking a new language.

You will learn English in useful contexts, focusing on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. You can also develop the four language skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. I will correct your mistakes and help you not to repeat them.

I have experience helping students to pass work based exams and interviews, and have taught English for clients at banks and multinational corporations, as well as in academies.

I have a basic level of Spanish, and as I used to live in Spain for three years, I have experience teaching Spanish speakers. So I can help you to reduce typical mistakes made by Spanish speakers in English. I know how it feels to learn a new language, so I can help you to stay motivated! I want you to enjoy learning English, and I love to see my students’ confidence increase!
