I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic English tutor with experience teaching students of different ages and abilities in Spain

My aim as an English tutor is to create a friendly, supporting and engaging learning environment where every student feels comfortable, confident and motivated to improve. Having taught English to children and working professionals at Oxford Language School in Bilbao, as well as providing private tuition, I understand that every student learns differently. I will take the time to understand your individual goals, current level and learning style so that I can tailor each lesson to your needs. Our first lesson will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what you would like to achieve. Whether you want to improve your conversational English, strengthen your grammar, develop your writing skills, prepare for an exam or feel more confident speaking English at work, I will work with you to create a personalised learning plan. I want you to feel that your lessons are relevant to your everyday life and that you are able to see your progression over time. My lessons will be interactive and practical, combining conversation, grammar exercises, vocabulary development, reading, listening and writing activities. I believe the best way to learn a language is to use it, so I will encourage you to speak English as much as possible in a relaxed and encouraging environment. We can discuss topics that interest you, practise real-life situations, work through common grammatical difficulties and develop your pronunciation and fluency. I will explain new concepts clearly, provide constructive feedback and help you understand mistakes without feeling discouraged by them. Having lived and worked in Spain, I have experience teaching students from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. My advanced Spanish also allows me to explain challenging English grammar or vocabulary in Spanish when appropriate. However, I will encourage students to use English as much as possible to build independence and confidence in the language. I can adapt my teaching approach to children, teenagers and adults at different levels. For younger learners, I aim to make lessons enjoyable through creative activities, games and interactive exercises. For adult learners, I can focus on practical communication, professional English, everyday conversations or specific learning objectives.
