Friendly and experienced Maths and Science tutor helping students build confidence and achieve their potential.

I am a First-Class UCL graduate with experience providing one-to-one Maths and Science tuition to KS3 students. I tailor each lesson to the individual student, taking time to understand where they are struggling and adapting the way I explain concepts until they genuinely understand them rather than simply memorising a method. My lessons combine clear explanations with worked examples, targeted practice and exam-style questions where appropriate. I also revisit previous topics to identify and close gaps in understanding, while gradually increasing the difficulty as a student becomes more confident. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, while still challenging them to make consistent progress. I have particularly enjoyed seeing the impact that personal support can have on both confidence and academic performance. One student I tutored had previously been achieving yearly averages between 40-59% and went on to achieve a final Chemistry grade of 72%. Experiences like these have reinforced my belief that the explanation and encouragement can make a real difference to a student's progress.
