In English Language, I start with a fun warm-up exercise, such as identifying language techniques in popular songs or finding techniques in a popular children's book. We will then proceed to the exam questions. I use a "watch and learn" approach, so I either write my answers in real time or provide a model answer that they can try to replicate with another question. The student hears my thought process and can eventually start to mimic it, using higher-level ideas in their answers. As the student progresses, I begin implementing other skills they need to master, such as timing and planning.
