First-Class UCL Natural Sciences Graduate | Maths, Physics & Chemistry Tutor for GCSE, A-Levels and IB

Hi, I’m Teni — a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor for Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

I graduated from UCL with a First-Class BSc in Natural Sciences, specialising in Physical Chemistry and Modern Physics, and I am currently studying for an MSc at Imperial College London. Before university, I achieved 9s in all 12 of my GCSEs and went on to study the International Baccalaureate (IB) with Higher Level Maths (Analysis and Approaches), Physics and Chemistry, achieving top grades and an overall score of 44/45.

I have experience tutoring both GCSE and IB students one-to-one, online and in person. I know these subjects can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when explanations move too quickly or don’t quite click, so I focus on making difficult topics feel clear, manageable and much less intimidating.

My teaching style is supportive and tailored to the individual. Some students benefit from concepts being broken down step by step, some need lots of worked examples, and others mainly need help building confidence and improving exam technique. I always aim to create a calm, encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

Alongside my scientific training, I also work in science communication and writing, which has given me strong experience in explaining complex ideas clearly and accessibly. This is something I bring directly into my tutoring: I do not just want students to memorise methods, but to genuinely understand what they are doing and why.
