My lessons are friendly, structured and tailored to the individual student. I usually start by identifying what the student is finding difficult, whether that is understanding a topic from class, working through homework, or preparing for an exam. From there, I adapt the lesson to what will be most useful: breaking concepts down step by step, going through worked examples together, setting practice questions, or focusing on exam technique and problem-solving.
I aim to make lessons feel calm and supportive, so students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I know that Maths and science can feel intimidating when something has not clicked yet, so I focus on explaining things clearly and in different ways until they do. I want students not just to memorise methods, but to understand why they are doing what they are doing.
I have previous experience tutoring GCSE and IB students one-to-one, both online and in person, in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Because of my own academic background — including a First-Class degree in Natural Sciences from UCL and strong results in GCSE and IB Maths, Physics and Chemistry — I am very familiar with the content, but I also know what it feels like to learn these subjects as a student. That helps me make my teaching practical, patient and encouraging.
Depending on the student, lessons might involve revisiting class material, strengthening weaker topics, practising calculations, or working through exam-style questions together. My goal is always to help students build both understanding and confidence over time.
