Experienced Remote Science Tutor with PGCE, PhD and Strong Biology, Chemistry and Physics Teaching Background

I am a calm, structured and highly adaptive science teacher who specialises in making complex ideas feel simple and accessible. My background blends strong academic training — including a PhD in cancer molecular imaging — with practical classroom experience teaching KS3–KS5 biology, chemistry and physics. I’m patient, encouraging and very clear in the way I explain concepts, and I place a big emphasis on breaking learning down into manageable steps so students feel confident rather than overwhelmed. My lessons are aimed at students who need personalised, supportive guidance to make real progress. This includes learners who benefit from clear scaffolding, those with SEND, EHCPs or IEPs, students who have gaps in knowledge, and those preparing for GCSE or A‑level exams who want structured revision and targeted practice. I also enjoy working with high‑achieving students who want to stretch their understanding and deepen their scientific thinking. Whether a student needs confidence‑building, exam‑focused support, or help understanding the foundations of science, my teaching is always tailored, inclusive and grounded in evidence‑based strategies such as modelling, retrieval practice and dual coding.
