Experienced English teacher. IELTS, Cambridge exams and Business English

I have taught English for over a decade. I work with adults and older teenagers, online and in person. My main areas are exam preparation and Business English.

For exams, I prepare students for IELTS and for the Cambridge suite, from B2 First through C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. I know how these papers are marked and where candidates lose points. Lessons are built around the sections you find hardest, with timed practice under real conditions, so that nothing on the day is new to you.
For Business English, I have run corporate training for companies including Gazprom, LukOil and KPMG. We cover meetings, presentations, negotiation, email and reports. The material comes from your own work.

I also teach general English at all levels, and I am happy to spend time on pronunciation, fluency and confidence in speaking.

I hold a BA (Hons) in History from Lancaster University, a 120 hour TEFL certificate renewed in 2025, and a current DBS check. I have taught in the UK, Russia, Italy and Spain.

My lessons are calm and practical. You speak for most of the hour and I correct as we go. I keep a record of the mistakes that recur so we can work on them properly. I set homework if you want it.
