I am an experienced English tutor with over 8 years tutoring experience. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, including SEN students, in both an educational environment and in the students home.
My method of teaching is unique and unconventional and I often tailor my lessons to students personal strengths, passions and interests as I find that the best way to engage students in learning is to pair learning with life skills and experiences.
Getting to know my students is of paramount importance to me and the more I know about a student, the more I can understand what they need to achieve and accomplish their learning goals and ambitions.
I often have past students contacting me just to say hi and to let me know what they are doing now educationally but also generally in life as they see me as not only a teacher and mentor, but also a friend and confidant that they can get knowledge and wisdom from.
I have worked with all types of personalities, some with behavioural difficulties, mental health issues, social problems and more extreme special needs and disabilities. All matter, all are important, all are unique, gifted and talented in their own right.
I have learnt during my years of tutoring that no two students study in the same way and some work better with self directed and independent learning, while others need direction and encouragement to engage in their studies.
I am passionate about inspiring my students to become confident and able learners as learning is a lifelong quest that is never ending. Regardless of how much knowledge we have we can still learn something new every day.
