Josephine Onuorah

Hello! I'm Josephine, an English tutor with a strong academic foundation and real classroom experience teaching English and related subjects across two countries. I hold a B.A. in Psychological Foundations of Education with a major in English, along with a Diploma in Basic Education, both from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
My teaching journey began in Ghana, where I taught English, Literature, Government, and Civic Education to junior secondary students as part of my national service placement. I then moved into international school teaching in Togo, where I spent several years at Redeemed International Schools progressing from Class Teacher to Subject Teacher and eventually Assistant Head Teacher. This gave me hands-on experience managing classrooms, designing lessons, and supporting learners of very different ages, backgrounds, and ability levels.
I'm currently completing an Advanced TEFL certification (300 hours) to further sharpen my methods specifically for teaching English as a foreign language, alongside the classroom experience I already bring.
My approach to tutoring is simple: every student learns differently, so every lesson should be shaped around their actual goals, not a generic script. Whether you're preparing for an exam, building confidence for work or travel, or just want to speak more naturally, I focus on practical, encouraging practice rather than rigid drilling. I pay close attention to grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and above all, building the confidence to actually use the language out loud.
I'm patient, clear in my explanations, and genuinely enjoy watching a student's confidence grow session by session. Lessons are conducted online and fully adapted to your schedule and pace.
