English Literature and Language GCSE & A-Level Tutor

I’m an experienced English tutor specialising in helping students achieve top results at GCSE and A-Level in English Language and English Literature.

Over the past five years, I have worked with students from Year 3 through to Year 13, delivering more than 700 hours of personalised tuition. My lessons focus not only on improving grades, but also on building confidence and helping students understand how to approach English in a clear, structured way.

Many students struggle with English not because they lack ability, but because they have never been shown how to structure their ideas, analyse texts effectively, or approach exam questions with confidence. My teaching focuses heavily on these skills. By strengthening exam technique, essay structure, and analytical thinking, my students typically improve by two or more grades, particularly at GCSE and A-Level where these skills are crucial.

I have experience teaching across all major UK exam boards, and every lesson is tailored to the student’s individual learning style, pace, and academic goals. Whether a student is aiming to secure a pass, boost their confidence, or achieve top grades, my approach is designed to help them succeed.

Academically, I achieved A*AA at A-Level, including top grades in English, History, and French. I received offers from several Russell Group universities, including Exeter, Durham, Warwick, and Liverpool, and went on to study at the University of Exeter. This academic background allows me to guide students with both strong subject knowledge and proven exam strategies.

I care deeply about my students’ progress and take their education as seriously as I took my own. If a student is willing to put in the effort, I provide the structure, support, and expertise needed to help them achieve results they can be proud of.
