Advert description
I adapt to the needs of each student. I have deep experience in coaching and mentoring students and young professionals. I set up schemes in law firms to support young people's entry into law (particularly from disadvantaged, non-privileged backgrounds).
I am accessible, straightforward and have a genuine desire to help young people find work and enjoy work.
Listening and communication skills are key. I would listen to the issues that the students have e.g. poor time management, issues with communication, worries about confidence or self-esteem and guide them depending on their needs. Some may need a gentler hand and others may need challenge.
I have supported at least dozens of students and helped them to become happier, more confident, find their passion, find a job and enjoy their work.
I have worked with students through various charitable organisations alongside my work within law firms such as IntoUniversity, Aspiring Solicitors, 10,000 Black Interns and I have coached and mentored numerous paralegals, trainee solicitors and junior lawyers on professional skills and development, career clarity, focus, confidence and softer skills such as resilience, how to listen, how to receive feedback etc. I have also supervised many junior professionals as part of management roles and have strongly contributed to their personal and professional development over years.
I am confident I can work well with any young person and help them. It's something I care about deeply.
