I will always strive to make you feel comfortable and confident as a singer. In our lessons, we will work on exercises to improve technique in breathing, phonation, resonance and tone. We apply these exercises to a range of repertoire which will challenge you and encourage you to explore your vocal potential fully. My exercises are ability and age appropriate, from working with my younger students through to my students of 80 plus! If you are looking to take exams, or to apply to a voice programme, we will cover theory and aural exercises and also approaches into sight singing. Performance psychology is also an important part of my lesson plan. It’s important that you are comfortable and supported in lessons and that you learn to find that confidence in yourself as well. Most importantly for my new singers, I hope to keep our lessons fun whilst we learn. I’m described by my other students as being warm and approachable as a teacher whilst being very knowledgeable about my subject. I am still in contact with many of my students from over my teaching career. I actively search for suitable opportunities for those who would like them and I come highly recommended from my fellow colleagues in the industry as a good singing teacher. I always set homework and goals for between lessons and I will expect you to keep a practice journal so you can follow your own learning journey. I look forward to meeting you and you can find out more about me as a singer on my website.
