Chinese & Cantonese teacher with strong journalism and humanities background

Hello, I’m Estrella! I was born in Hong Kong and am now based in London. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication from CUHK, specialising in Chinese-language news, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Culture and Society at LSE. This academic background gives me both a professional command of Chinese and strong English proficiency.

I have worked as a part-time teacher in one of Hong Kong’s largest private education groups, teaching Chinese, English, and General Studies to students from kindergarten to high school, including those with special educational needs. I enjoy designing interactive lessons using storytelling and gamification to make learning fun and effective.

For me, teaching Chinese is more than language learning — it is also about exploring the culture, history, and traditions embedded in the language. I aim to help students not only improve their Chinese skills but also discover the beauty and richness of Chinese culture.
