Biochemistry student at University College London, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics A-levels completed.

In my lessons I would begin with a starter task based on the lessons plans, to find out how well the student knows the topic and how to apply the knowledge in different question scenarios, this will pin point if there perhaps needs to be more focus on exam technique or understanding content. Then, I would write out structured, concise and easy to follow notes about the topic, based on the specification of the specific exam board. I would include basic information, taking time to break down complex ideas into simpler terms. In lessons, I would use colour coded notes, with accurate and clear pre-drawn diagrams for visual learning. For equations, I would write out numerous examples, for the student to copy, then try on their own based on the method. My lessons would also include the use of varying study techniques which I used in my exam preparations, such as active recall, writing from memory and timed exam questions. This would benefit the student in determining which type of learner they are and which techniques they can use in their own time for more efficient studying.
