Advert description
I bring over 10 years of experience working in education, including as a cover teacher in both primary and secondary schools, and as a tutor supporting students in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education (with Distinction), which has equipped me with strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of pedagogy and inclusive teaching strategies.
Throughout my career, I have supported learners of varying abilities and backgrounds, including students with SEN and those for whom English is an additional language. I have also volunteered to support asylum-seeking families, further reinforcing my commitment to inclusive, learner-focused education.
My strengths include:
Clear and adaptable communication
Building rapport and trust with learners
Explaining complex concepts in accessible ways
Fostering independent thinking and motivation
In my lessons, I begin by identifying the student’s current level, goals, and preferred learning style. I use this information to plan personalised sessions that target key knowledge gaps and build confidence.
Lessons typically combine discussion, visual aids, guided tasks, and exam-focused practice where appropriate. I encourage active engagement through questioning, real-life examples, and regular feedback to ensure progress.
