University student pursuing a degree in East Asian Studies: Japanese, targeting early-stage Japanese language-learners

Hi there!

My name is Margo, and I am a 4th year university student pursuing a BA in East Asian Studies: Japanese Language Emphasis. I am offering private tutoring targeting students interested in beginning Japanese studies!

Since 2020, I have completed an extensive amount of Japanese language courses as well as studying specialised courses in Japanese linguistics and on becoming multilingual. This comprehensive study has given me deep insights into Japanese language learning, allowing me to understand the challenges students face and how to address them effectively.

Through two cultural exchange programs I have spent a large amount of time in Japan and elsewhere in East Asia, having the opportunity to immerse myself in Japanese family homestays as well as participate in traditional cultural activities including tea ceremonies, school visits, and meetings with local officials. This firsthand experience allows me to bring cultural context and real-world applications to language instruction, making lessons more engaging and meaningful for students.

I am eager to share my appreciation for Japanese culture by helping new students develop their Japanese language skills. I am experienced in teaching adolescents and young adults– catering my teaching methods to their individual learning styles. I lead with passion and positivity, and have a deep patience for all my students.
