Advert description
I am a published author with a Master’s Degree in Publishing and 5+ years of copyediting experience offering tutorials, workshops and constructive editing to improve creative and academic writing skills.
I'd like to collaborate with you to understand your personal needs, so I offer a free copyedit of your work before the first session. You can send a sample of your writing (up to 2,000 words) and I will carry out an in-depth edit for grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone and style. I can then offer a one-hour tutorial to discuss your goals and any areas for improvement as well as providing writing advice that you can carry forward into your future work.
After the first session, any further tutoring will be tailor-made to your needs. I may suggest tasks and exercises based on your work, and offer in-depth tutorials for particular areas you need clarification on.
I am able to work with skills of any level, and can offer academic assistance to KS3 through degree-level students. Tutoring can be completed online or I can travel to an area that suits you within the North West.
My credentials:
- My published novels have been shortlisted for The Bookseller's YA Book Prize and the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, and twice-nominated for the Carnegie medal for writing.
- I have a Master's Degree with Distinction in Publishing, and a BA(hons) in English Literature with Creative Writing.
- I have 5+ years of experience copyediting for an academic journal, including extensive experience working with ESL authors.
