The way I start my lessons is by getting to know my student's needs first. The first lesson will be a check-up as well as an introduction in order to figure out how I can best be of service. After this, I tailor my lessons based on the student's difficulties and weak points in order to assure constant progress. When it comes to the actual content of the class, I believe that a language can only truly be taught by the practice of conversation. Therefore a lot of my exercises will be based on conversations following different topics. When it comes to writing, in the past during my Dutch lessons, I have created worksheets containing games or fun ways of remembering what can sometimes be considered as difficult. I always make sure that my lessons stay dynamic and engaging in order to not lose the focus of my student and above all make them appreciate the language they are learning and not see it as a chore!
Although I am 19, I have been bilingual since a young age and became trilingual in my teen years through a bilingual education at my International School: École Bilingue Jeanine Manuel de Marcq-en-Baroeul, France. I have always been drawn to languages and have ease in learning them as I pick up quite easily. All in all, I know what it is like to learn a new language and more importantly I know how to do it in a fun and engaging way!
Thank you for your consideration and I hope to hear from you soon!
