I am a native English speaker from Liverpool with a professional background in digital media, writing, content production and presenting. My work depends on communicating ideas clearly, adapting my language for different audiences and helping people feel comfortable during conversations. I have worked across music, sport, culture, live events and community projects, which has given me experience communicating with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. My lessons will be friendly, relaxed and centred on the individual student. We will begin by discussing your current ability, interests and reasons for learning English. You might want to feel more confident in everyday conversations, improve your vocabulary and pronunciation, prepare for a job interview or communicate more naturally in a professional environment. I will then shape our lessons around those specific goals. Rather than relying only on textbooks, I will use practical conversations and realistic situations. These could include introducing yourself, travelling, ordering food, socialising, discussing your interests, participating in workplace conversations or answering interview questions. We can also use short articles, videos, music, current events and other subjects that genuinely interest you. This will make lessons more engaging while helping you encounter English as it is naturally spoken and written. During each lesson, I will encourage you to speak as much as possible. I will listen carefully, identify areas for improvement and explain corrections clearly and supportively. We can work on vocabulary, sentence structure, pronunciation and grammar within the context of a real conversation, helping you understand not only what is correct but how and when particular language is used. Lessons will progress at a pace that feels comfortable while still providing an appropriate level of challenge. At the end of each session, we will review what we have covered, highlight useful new words or expressions and identify something to practise before the next lesson. My aim is to create an encouraging environment where students do not feel embarrassed about making mistakes. Mistakes are an important part of learning a language. I want each student to leave our lessons feeling more capable, motivated and confident about using English in real-life situations.
