Advert description
I am a qualified Psychology educator with six years of teaching experience in further education. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a PGCE in Further Education and Training, and Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
Throughout my teaching career, I have developed extensive experience supporting learners with a wide range of abilities, confidence levels, and learning needs. My subject expertise covers key areas of psychology, including research methods, cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, biological psychology, psychological approaches, and mental health. I also have a strong understanding of the skills required for successful assessment, including applying psychological concepts, analysing research, evaluating theories and studies, and developing well-structured written responses.
My teaching methodology is student-centred and focused on building both knowledge and confidence. I adapt my approach according to each learner’s individual needs, using clear explanations, questioning, discussion, examples, retrieval practice, and exam-style activities to reinforce learning. I particularly enjoy breaking down complex psychological concepts into manageable, easy-to-understand ideas and then helping students apply their knowledge independently.
I believe that effective teaching goes beyond simply delivering content. My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their understanding. I provide constructive feedback and help learners identify specific areas for improvement, while developing the critical thinking, analytical, evaluation, and exam techniques they need to progress.
My combination of subject knowledge, teaching qualifications, and six years of classroom experience allows me to provide structured, personalised, and engaging Psychology tuition for students looking to improve their understanding, academic performance, and confidence in the subject.
