I hold a BSc (Hons) in Criminology with Psychology and am currently studying for an MA in Education and Social Justice. I am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS) and a professionally registered Trauma-Informed Practitioner.
Alongside my academic background, I have over seven years’ experience working in schools, supporting young people with a wide range of learning needs. This includes one-to-one tutoring, classroom support and working with students with SEND and diverse learning profiles.
I provide tutoring in GCSE, A Level and undergraduate Psychology, as well as Criminology and related subjects where appropriate. Lessons are personalised to each student’s goals, whether they are building confidence, preparing for exams, improving essay writing, strengthening research methods or aiming for top grades.
Additionally, I provide tutoring to primary aged children and children with SEND and sessions will be tailored to any needs to promote success within the sessions.
My teaching is flexible and adapted to individual learning styles. Sessions may include presentations, visual resources, worksheets, discussion, exam-style questions, retrieval practice and interactive activities. Breaks can be incorporated where beneficial to support concentration and wellbeing. I can support with understanding of material, essay writing, and depth of knowledge.
My areas of expertise include cognitive, developmental, social, biological, abnormal and forensic psychology, attachment theory, eating behaviour, research methods, criminological theory, education, SEND, neurodiversity and social justice and philosophy. I also have knowledge of sociology and criminal and civil law, allowing me to make meaningful links across subjects where this enhances understanding.
My approach is supportive, inclusive and encouraging. I aim to create a calm learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing confidence and achieving their academic potential.
