I am a British native-English educator with fifteen years of international teaching experience face to face and online

I am a British native-English educator with fifteen years of international teaching experience, available online worldwide and face to face across the Sefton coast from August.

I’ve taught in classrooms, small groups, corporate settings, 1:1 with private families, VIP and ultra high net worth households. Every lesson is bespoke; I teach the learner, not the syllabus, building confidence and a positive mindset alongside results. I specialise in English language, Cambridge exam preparation, A1 to C2, IELTS and TOEFL, business English and corporate training.

I hold the Cambridge DELTA and CELTA, I am a former IELTS examiner, and I have held academic leadership and teacher training posts with the British Council, in Europe, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Senegal and Mauritius. I speak French and German with conversational Arabic.

I trained and worked as a professional actress. It was a Theatre in Education season in Italy, teaching children English through drama and musical theatre, that first drew me into education; that world still finds its way into my teaching, through storytelling, and role play. I have a holistic approach and in addition to drama I draw upon Montessori, Waldorf, forest school methodologies.

A great love of mine is The Arts: galleries, museums, the theatre, ballet, opera, classical music. I trained and worked as a professional actress, and it was a Theatre in Education season in Italy, teaching children English through drama and musical theatre, that first drew me into education and has shaped everything since; that world still finds its way into my teaching, through drama, storytelling, and role play. I play the piano and clarinet, I sing and paint, and I love anything hands-on and creative, from arts and crafts to a song shared with children. A reader at heart, I'm as happy curled up by a warm fire as I am out in the sunshine. I adore the beach and long walks by the sea, swimming, running, and cycling; nature grounds me, as do yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Animals, cooking, and discovering new places and good food are also among my joys. Above all, outside of work, family means everything to me, and my daughter Safiyyah is the light of my life.
