Tailored English Lessons for All Ages from a TESOL Graduate with Experience in Japan

I am a graduate with a first class Bachelor's degree in Japanese, TESOL, and Linguistics with previous experience working in Japan as an English tutor. I have experience with a variety of age groups ranging from as young as 2 years old to full time University students! My previous experience as a teaching assistant in an IELTS preparation class at Seijo University has allowed me to become familiar with the current proficiency expectations placed on students who wish to study abroad in English speaking countries. Additionally, my undergraduate studies have allowed me to conduct my lesson planning according to the specific circumstances of each and every student. Whether you are studying for IELTS, high school exams, a job opportunity or simply for fun, I can guarantee a tailored experience backed with my fundamental foundations for teaching English as a Second Language! Regarding what you can expect from me as your tutor, I believe strongly in taking a communicative approach that using topics relevant to your daily life to improve your English language skills. This would begin with first setting out your communicative purpose for learning English (for school, work, etc.) and then tailoring our sessions to focus on these topics to ensure that you are learning English that is useful in your daily life, rather than drilling benign grammar points. However, for students that prefer a more structured approach and feel they need extra support on specific components of English such as grammar, vocabulary, speaking or listening practice, I am also well versed in creating lessons that focus specifically on these aspects and promote a core understanding of the language itself.
