Medical Genetics graduate, MSc student and working Biology tutor, teaching GCSE & A Level to students of all abilities online.

I am a Medical Genetics graduate from the University of Leicester, currently completing an MSc in Genetic and Genomic Counselling at Cardiff University, and I have tutored GCSE Biology and Science since 2023 alongside my work in the NHS. My lessons are aimed at GCSE & A-Level students who find science overwhelming, who are aiming to push a grade 5 into a 7, or who simply need someone to slow down and explain it properly. I have experience teaching students with SEN and I adapt my pace and materials accordingly. I start by finding out where the gaps actually are, then build a plan around the exam board specification rather than teaching everything at once. Each lesson follows the same simple shape: recap, teach the concept in plain English, then apply it to real exam questions so the student sees exactly what the marker wants. I use diagrams, past papers, mark schemes and online resources, and I set short focused tasks between sessions. Just as importantly, I keep things calm and encouraging. Students learn far more when they are not afraid of getting something wrong. I track progress, give honest feedback, and keep parents updated on what we are working on and why.
