Advert description
Hi I'm Megan I'm an NHS Clinical Scientist with 2 years of English and Maths tutoring with Explore Learning.
Having recently finished my masters and undergraduate degrees in Clinical Scientific Computing (University of Liverpool) and Biology and Computer Science (Durham University) I am stepping back into tutoring.
Session Overview
-
I offer 45 min sessions with a free 15 min consultation to discuss whether I can offer what's best for the student.
Sessions can run online or from student's homes (if based in or around Leeds).
Having ADHD myself, I am very flexible with learning styles and any accommodations students need to best support their learning.
Breaks during sessions can be taken as frequently as needed will not be counted as session time.
Programming
-
I am very well versed in Python so can support any project work done in this language. I'm also happy to support students with any coding projects outside of school too.
I'm very passionate about programming in healthcare and science so would be more than happy to support students who are also interested in this area.
Long Term
-
When working with students long term, I will be following the GCSE curriculum to supplement school based learning. Sessions will cover additional content and extension content for those read to push themselves.
Additionally, I will work on revision strategies and time management. Hoping to be an encouraging and accountable person for students during their GCSEs.
Short Term
-
I can offer short term sessions, covering several GCSE topics students are struggling with.
Providing a dedicated space to explore the topic and develop confidence of it going forward.
Nearing exams, I can provide ad hoc GCSE practice paper sessions either going through questions together or marking and reviews papers done in school or in student's revision time.
Style
-------
I am very flexible and open to feedback. Most importantly I want students to develop confidence and curiosity during their studies. I hope to provide a safe environment where they feel encouraged and empowered.
