Medical student with maths and science tutoring experience

I have helped lead revision sessions for medical students and and helping my younger brother with his GCSE revision has reminded me how much I enjoyed learning about the sciences and I want to help others understand what's going on so they can love it too! I've been able to help students with their confidence and skill in both maths and science with great reviews. The experience has been so rewarding and I would love to be able to help you too.

I aim to make lessons engaging and interactive using a variety of activities such as quick-fire questions to reinforce key concepts, fill-in-the-gap exercises, and practice with exam-style questions to build confidence and familiarity with test formats.

In a typical session, me and my student will talk through the base concepts and then work through a number of examples together before encouraging them to solve problems independently, promoting a self-directed learning approach. We can go through any problems they have found difficult in the session or in their homework and talk about how to tackle similar concepts in the future.

I regularly encourage students to explain things back to me to test their understanding and make sure that we fill any gaps in their knowledge. I will regularly adapt my approach as needed to best suit my students and by creating a supportive and open environment, I aim to build not only academic success but also a genuine enthusiasm for learning.
