Maths Tuition for Secondry to A Level Students

I am studying Civil Engineering at the University of Manchester and have been tutoring for over 4 years!

I’ve learned how to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and exam boards helping students go from feeling unsure to confident in their abilities. I focus on building understanding rather following methods, using visual aids and walkthroughs of exam questions to help students develop proper mathematical thinking. Seeing that moment when something ‘clicks’ for a student is what keeps me passionate about tutoring as it’s something that I have experienced many times throughout my studies.

I’ve also found that communication is just as important as teaching itself. I make a point of keeping parents and students updated, setting goals together, and creating a relaxed learning environment where students actually enjoy the process of improving. Since starting university, my own understanding of maths has deepened even further, and I really enjoy explaining the ‘why’ behind concepts.
