In my lessons we will be reinforcing the theory we learn by practicing together, having Q&A's and explaining concepts to each other. There are never too many questions and I am happy to answer them all for you, as in my experience asking questions and making mistakes is one of the most effective ways of learning. Our classes will be an open discussion of your topics of choice, where you can ask questions and where we go over your lecture course material. I fully understand that every student has their own needs and their own ways of learning, which is why I am happy to tailor our classes to your preferences.
A little bit about myself, I am a recent chemistry graduate with a specialisation in materials chemistry. As part of my integrated masters degree I spent one year on an industrial placement working as an operational support scientist for Cambrex, a contract manufacturing and development organisation specialising in the development of active pharmaceutical ingredients. There I played a key role in the solid form screening team conducting polymorph-, salt-, and co-crystal screens. My final year MSc project explored enzyme immobilisation onto magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, where I synthesised, functionalised and activated magnetic nanoparticles before binding these to proteins to explore future possibilities of this technology in tandem with lipase enzyme catalysts. Outside of academia, I enjoy doing sports, traveling and training Aikido at Heriot-Watt University, where I have been the club captain
I look forward to learning with you!
