Professional writer CELTA qualified, MA in Creative Writing

I am a native English speaker and I have a CELTA degree as well as experience teaching English as a foreign language

I currently teach English online for Amazing Talker, previously I worked for Itutorgroup and Whales English. I gained a lot of experience using online teaching tools. I have taught English language skills to refugees and other immigrants on a voluntary basis, most recently in Lancaster (UK) and Amsterdam (Netherlands).

While living in South Africa, I founded and for 2 years I ran Katlehong Stories, a creative writing project for disadvantaged teenagers in the township Katlehong.

I have extensive experience teaching at university and college level. In Utrecht, the Netherlands, I worked as a law lecturer for four years at a journalism college and more recently, from 2012 – 2018, I worked as a lecturer in investigative journalism at Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa. Since I returned to the UK in 2019, I have completed a CELTA certificate.
