Advert description
I have a fun, low-pressure approach to learning, preferring a creative method to match the artistry of the subject, but I am able to adapt my teaching style to the student's preference. I offer support with: Film Studies essay writing; course-specific content and case study analysis; coursework elements, such as screenwriting, filming and evaluation; and subject-specific skills, all at GCSE and A Level.
What I lack in teaching experience, I make up for in enjoyment of Film Studies as a subject, and film as a creative medium. I have achieved a Grade 9 in the subject at GCSE and an A at A Level; I have also written an A*, award-winning EPQ in the style of a TV pilot screenplay. I will also be studying Film and Television Production at university, so you can be sure that I am passionate about the subject!
I have plenty of experience with writing A* grade essays across subjects, including Film Studies, as well as with screenwriting and short-film production. I am willing to proof-read and offer advice on coursework elements, as well as assist in exam prep and revision.
For student reference, I studied the Eduqas specification for both GCSE and A Level; below is a list of films that I studied under these specifications, however my knowledge of filmmaking techniques and the requirements of the exam board mean that I am well-equipped to tutor any film not on this list, too.
GCSE: ET, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Juno, Tsotsi, District 9, Submarine
A Level: Some Like It Hot, Do The Right Thing, Joker, Moonlight, Trainspotting, We Need To Talk About Kevin, Another Round, Parasite, Amy, Buster Keaton shorts, Fallen Angels
