I spot learners' strongest points and weakest points in French in order to plan lessons according to their needs. I believe in starting by helping learners with progressing in what they are already doing well; that way their motivation to go further in learning a new language and culture increases. Although I prioritise learners' needs, for instance getting ready for a French test, being prepared to travel in a French-speaking country, I also prepare extra exercice to make them build their confidence, such as watching a video in French and summarise what they understood, reading a text and putting themselves into a specific character's shoes...
