Biology from Key stage 3-5 With over 20 years experience

Advert description
My background in Biology means I have a keen interest in the environment and sharing the importance of preserving it for future generations. I understand the importance of caring for and nurturing animals and appreciate fully how these interactions have a huge therapeutic benefit. Although I have been out of the formal work environment for a few years I continue to keep myself up to date with recent developments in Education policy. I have a breadth of experience from a variety of school settings but I am keen to learn new skills and contribute in an alternative education provision. My renovation work has taught me new skills which I would be keen to share with others. I would welcome the chance to teach practical applications of science through gardening, I have been growing my own vegetables and fruits recently and understand the joys and challenges this can present. It also offers opportunities for students to think of ways of incorporating them into a nutritional meal to share with others. The chance to return to the workplace in an alternative education setting where I can bring my professional background and life experience together as a teaching assistant appeals greatly.
Outside of my subject teaching I was responsible for co-ordinating Community Service placements for students in the wider community. The chance for students to participate in community projects outside of academic subjects gives them a wider perspective on life and a insight to the world beyond the classroom.
Whilst my teaching specialism is Biology I have also taught Chemistry and Physics.
