Advert description
Music should be fun! I aim to keep my lessons structured, clear, and engaging. I do expect my pupils to practise between lessons, and they will enjoy it more if they do. I am happy to summarise lessons, write reports or references, upon request. My biography below.
Joel Cooper is a professional trumpeter, composer, and teacher, based in Ipswich. He started learning the cornet at the age of 7 and enjoyed playing in brass bands and youth orchestras, (including the National Children’s Orchestra and National Youth Orchestras of Great Britain). He performed in his first solo competition at the age of 8 and continued to compete regionally and nationally.
After attending Chetham’s School of Music, he went on to graduate from the Royal Northern College of Music, and has built up an exciting career since, performing with many orchestras, including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Lyon Opera Orchestra, and even touring with the Australian Ballet! He loves to travel and, to date, has visited over 80 countries through music!
Joel is proud to promote local professional musicians through Inspired Music, (a small music agency). He also runs his own street brass band, (Brass Beats Collective), and enjoys performing with Inspired Brass Quintet, and Brass & Ivories.
He has given solo recitals in many cathedrals, churches, and arts centres and has performed on TV / radio for the BBC, ITV and Sky. He has had the privilege of performing for members of the Royal Family, including his Majesty, King Charles III.
