Experienced Remote Tutor SATs-GCSE English Language/Literature

Hello! I am a tutor of 3+ years with a real love of teaching, now studying Psychology at the University of Sheffield.

Over the years, I have taught 10+ pupils whose parents have only given me positive feedback. I am so so proud of my tutees, who have exceeded entry requirements, reached top sets and (most importantly) seen a big boost in their confidence and a total change in their attitude toward school.

I work with pupils with numerous SEND needs and will tailor each lesson to best support you/your child. As a student myself, I understand the pressures of school and exams so teach as a friendly, supportive and understanding older peer rather than a traditional professional.

English GCSEs are incredibly overwhelming. Simplifying this subject, I initially focus on learning the skills of language analysis, teaching paragraph structures and understanding intention behind writers' language and structure. Reversing this, I teach writing through intentionally selecting language and structure to create effect. Then, these language analysis skills can be applied to English Literature.

These skills are easily grasped from Key Stage 2 and I have found to be essential for success at SATs or 11+ entrance exams. I can support with both comprehension and SPaG.
