Advert description
Having achieved both my PGCS in English and my Bachelor's degree in the same, I began tutoring online in 2021. In the time since, I've spent thousands of hours helping students achieve their goals and clearing up their problems. During the same time period, I have completed my Master's degree in English and have undertaken doctoral studies to further my education to ensure that I know everything needed to help others reach their full potential.
Students face a huge task at both the secondary school and college levels. There is plenty of material to cover and not a huge amount of time to do it in, and classes can often be busy places where a teacher is stretched too thin.
My lessons aim to solve these issues. Simplifying the mammoth task of learning the syllabus into bite-sized pieces, I aim to give students both the time and personal experience that can help break through the hardest portions of the curriculum. Teaching should be tailored to the individual, and my classes do exactly that: focus in on what each student actually wants to achieve, identify what's stopping them, and giving them the tools to break down those barriers.
To that end, I don't like making tutoring sessions into lectures. I put together dynamic classes that cater to the learning styles of each student, giving different perspectives and approaches to the material to find what works for you. Ultimately, my priority is to give you the knowledge, methods, and confidence to reach whatever your own goals may be. As a result of this, I have consistently had students emerge from their GCSEs scoring two or three grades higher than their predictions.
My areas of expertise are in GCSE English Literature and Language, and A-Level Literature with the majority of my experience coming within the AQA, Edexcel, and OCR exam boards. Please feel free to contact me even if you are currently sitting another exam board's syllabus, as I may still be able to help!
