Advert description
Hi, I’m Hugo, a professional television editor with over 16 years of experience working in the broadcast industry. I offer video editing lessons for students who want to learn the craft of editing for film, television and online content.
Over the course of my career I’ve worked on a wide range of television productions, including the BBC's The Repair Shop, Saving Lives at Sea, and Interior Design Masters, collaborating with directors, Edit producers and production teams to shape stories through editing. My work focuses on storytelling, pacing, building engaging sequences that keep audiences watching and workflows for dealing with such large amounts of footage.
As a video editing tutor, I teach both the creative and technical sides of editing. My lessons are tailored to your experience level, whether you're a beginner learning video editing for the first time or someone looking to improve your film editing skills.
In lessons we can cover:
Video editing fundamentals
Film and television editing techniques
Storytelling through editing
Editing dialogue and performance scenes
Structuring scenes and sequences
Professional editing workflows
Learning editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer
Advice on starting a career in television editing
My goal is to help students understand how professional editors think, not just how to use editing software. By learning both the creative and technical aspects of editing, you’ll develop the skills needed to create stronger, more engaging edits.
If you’re interested in learning video editing, improving your editing skills, or understanding how television programmes are edited professionally, I’d be happy to help.
