Experienced KS2 English Tutor – Online Classes to Boost Reading, Writing & Confidence

I have several years of experience working at Kumon, where I supported students aged 3–16 in developing strong foundations in English. During this time, I worked closely with children of varying abilities, helping them improve their reading fluency, comprehension, spelling, grammar, and writing skills. I gained valuable experience in identifying individual learning needs, tracking progress, and adapting teaching methods to ensure every student felt supported and challenged at the right level. My role required patience, consistency, and strong communication skills, allowing me to build positive relationships with both students and parents.

As a tutor, I provide personalised, structured lessons tailored to each child’s specific goals and areas for improvement. I offer support in key KS2 English areas, including reading comprehension, creative and descriptive writing, SPaG (spelling, punctuation, and grammar), as well as preparation for SATs and 11+ exams. My approach is friendly, patient, and encouraging, creating a comfortable learning environment where students can build both their skills and confidence. I use a range of engaging resources and techniques to make lessons effective and enjoyable, while regularly assessing progress to ensure continuous improvement.

My aim is not only to help students achieve academic success, but also to develop their confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
