Advert description
I’m a year 12 student studying a level maths, physics and psychology. When teaching I’ll use the same approach I use to my A level revision, where we will go over a past paper, jot down which topics and weakest, and do lessons based on the weaknesses. This will help in focusing in on the topics you don’t understand, leaving the ones your already strong in for later where they can be consolidated closer to the exam.
Over time, after you’ve clarified all of weakest topics, you will start doing full past papers within timed conditions to help with time management. Most likely in the real exam time management won’t be a problem because you’ll be rushing to finish all the questions, but it will still help you to make less mistakes when your under that timed pressure.
When we first start off with the past papers the questions you focus on will mostly be before the half way mark of the paper. This is just because if you want to guarantee a 6 this is all you need, and as you get past this point the questions become exponentially more difficult. This is because the questions start combing different topics from over the curriculum. So focusing on the first half in the begging will help you prepare for them multi-topic questions. So as you get stronger, you should be able to do the first half fairly easily, showing us you can move onto the more difficult questions if your aiming for top grades.
Even if you are already strong in all the topics individually, it can still be beneficial to use this method and it makes the longer questions so much simpler if you know all your methods.
I don’t have experience outside of helping friends and family, however I do use this approach myself for maths and physics with good results.
Available for lessons would be online on weekday evenings( Monday - Thursday )and Saturdays.
