Patient and approachable Maths tutor for GCSE and A-Level students, offering personalised lessons in Guildford and online, with A*

My lessons will be structured around building both understanding and exam confidence. I will use clear PowerPoint slides to introduce each topic directly from the specification, before working through examples step by step and explaining the reasoning behind each method. A key part of my teaching will be showing students how to check their own work and recognise whether an answer is realistic or likely to be correct. This is something I underestimated during my own exams, but I now see as one of the most valuable skills in Maths. Once the core method is understood, I will move towards student-led exam questions, encouraging students to talk through their reasoning while I identify gaps, correct misconceptions and suggest more efficient approaches. Lessons will be adapted to each student's ability, confidence and weaker topics, with a strong focus on exam technique as well as understanding the underlying Maths.
