Advert description
With a First-Class MEng in Mechanical Design Engineering from the University of Glasgow, as well as international study experience at the University of British Columbia, I combine academic excellence with real-world insight to deliver clear and effective lessons. My background includes advanced thermodynamics, vibrations, renewable energy systems, and CAD-based simulation, providing a strong foundation to support students in engineering, physics, maths, and design.
I am currently employed as a Structural Engineer at an Offshore Energy company, where I apply my skills in mechanical systems, materials analysis, and fluid simulation to solve practical engineering challenges. This hands-on experience feeds directly into my tutoring, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with real applications—whether they are working on coursework, preparing for university, or considering a future in STEM.
Previously, I worked in IT infrastructure at a Communications company, where I led technical teams and trained new engineers. This role strengthened my ability to explain complex systems clearly and confidently—skills that now underpin my teaching.
At Explore Learning, I tutored students aged 5 to 14 in maths and English across Key Stages 1 to 3. I developed personalised approaches to help younger learners build confidence and master challenging concepts. I now support students from primary school through to university level, tailoring my methods to suit each learner’s needs and goals.
I offer tailored lessons in:
Maths, Physics, General Sciences, Design, and IT (from Primary to University Level)
Engineering Fundamentals, including Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Dynamics
University Study Support, such as help with assignments, dissertations, and software use
STEM Career Preparation, including technical interview coaching and industry insight
Each session is structured, engaging, and tailored to the individual, whether a student is starting out with a new subject or advancing through degree-level material. I focus on building genuine understanding through practical examples, clear explanations, and a flexible, student-led approach.
