Advert description
I am a design professional and postgraduate student specialising in design innovation, product design, and service design, with both academic and industry experience. I offer personalised design tutoring for students and early professionals who want to build strong foundations, improve their creative thinking, and gain confidence in applying design methods effectively.
My teaching approach is student-centred, structured, and practical. I believe good design starts with clear thinking, so my lessons focus on understanding the why behind design decisions, not just the final outcome. I guide students through the full design process, research, problem framing, ideation, concept development, iteration, and reflection while adapting each lesson to individual learning styles and goals.
I work with school students, undergraduate and postgraduate design students, and beginners exploring design for the first time. I also support students preparing portfolios for university applications, internships, or job roles. Lessons can include help with assignments, project structuring, design critique, concept storytelling, and presenting ideas clearly and confidently.
With professional experience in a global design consultancy, I bring real-world insights into my teaching. I have worked on interdisciplinary projects across sectors such as aviation, public services, infrastructure, and sustainability, collaborating with designers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders. This allows me to help students understand how design functions in professional and interdisciplinary environments, beyond academic theory.
My lessons encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and experimentation, while also providing clear frameworks and guidance to avoid feeling overwhelmed. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their own design voice.
Ultimately, my goal is not only to help students complete tasks or pass assessments, but to equip them with transferable design skills, confidence, and a strong design mindset that they can carry forward into their studies and careers.
